Basic counselling skills course

Unlike for our public courses, we can modify the timetable of this course for organisations. For example, it can be delivered in five 6-hour workshops. The workshops cover the following issues:

Communication skills

These two-day workshops (12 hours) are designed to help participants to achieve effective communication. The workshops are delivered at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Depending on the level, participants will have an enhanced awareness of non-verbal communication, blockages to communication, using communication strategies to achieve their objectives. The workshop exercises draw on practices of Client-Centred Counselling and Gestalt Therapy applied to everyday life and workplace situations.

The fee for this workshop is £840.00 (up to 12 participants) or £2,000.00 for the three workshops.


Working in teams

These two-day (12 hours) workshops are designed to help participants improve their own and their team's performance. Depending on the focus of the workshop, participants will enhance their awareness of their role in teams and the ways in which they respond to challenges from them, members and the team as a whole. As a result of the individual and group exercises, participants will be able to utilise the dynamics of their team for more effective working.

Workshop 1: Roles in the team. Understanding team profiles. Team situations.

Workshop 2: What do others do? Overcoming cognitive barriers. Peer review. Responsibilities in team situations.

Workshop 3: Uncovering and unblocking team issues. Using skills and knowledge under pressure. Dealing with the threat of Groupthink.

The fee is £840.00 per workshop (up to 12 participants) or £2,000.00 for the three workshops.


Dealing with stress

This two-day (12 hours) workshop deals with one of the most common workplace problems: stress. Participants will have an enhanced awareness of the sources of stress and will be able to recognise stress-situations, hence being able to deal with these more effectively. The workshop also offers techniques of managing stress both in the short and in the long term. The workshop exercises draw on practices of Client-Centred Counselling and Gestalt Therapy.
